The renowned radio and TV post-production company Bluebox, based in Burgdorf Switzerland, has expanded its Genelec DSP monitoring system to 5.1. The investment in Genelec DSP stereo system done in late 2007 brought to Bluebox Crew a great deal of enthusiasm. At that time, they already thought about surround setups since the Dolby Digital demand from the Radio and TV world is growing every day. The logical extension into multichannel was a matter of time.

Genelec 8250A monitoring helps Finnish production/writing team Silencio to ‘perform'. This is quite possibly the cleanest studio in the world. There’s not a spec of dust on any of the worktops; the vintage outboard in the control room (the White Room) all looks polished; nothing is out of place. The award is given by the Mix Foundation and is a result of a voting process involving over tens of thousands of audio industry professionals. Award ceremonies were held on Friday October 3 at the Westin St. Francis in San Fransisco.

Barely known outside his native Sweden, Evert Taube is something of an iconic figure for many of his fellow Swedish countrymen.
After Taube’s death in 1976, a huge archive of his personal artefacts – including rare recordings, original manuscripts, drawings and photographs – lay in storage for three decades, until surviving family members agreed to loan some of them to Gothenburg’s Liseberg Amusement Park so that they could be put on public display in a new pavilion dedicated to his life and work.

TV2 is Norway’s leading commercial station. It was established in 1992 and has its headquarters in Bergen but it has a presence throughout the country including the capital Oslo. And it’s the very centre of Oslo in its pedestrianised shopping area that you will find its studios.

Oslo’s Norwegian Academy of Music has installed multichannel Genelec monitoring systems in three new rooms at its new premises in the capital. Started some 25 years ago, the Academy originally ran two SSL 4000 consoles -- one in a traditional recording studio the other as an electrophonic music room.
