On December 1st 2009, Genelec gathered its European Product Specialists in Abcoude just outside Amsterdam, for a one-day training session.
The topic of the session was the new 8260A Three-way DSP loudspeaker system featuring the revolutionary MDC Minimum Diffraction Coaxial technology.

Australia's longest running film school, the School of Film and Television at the University of Melbourne (VCAM) has recently undertaken a number of audio and visual hardware upgrades. The 35th AES 'Audio for Games' conference took place at the Royal Academy of Engineering in the heart of London during February 2009. Genelec provided two speaker systems for the event, one being a 7.1 DSP system using 8250A and a 7271A subwoofer. This was used by Ville Pulkki of Helsinki University of Technology to demonstrate his DirAC based audio engine technology, which uses spatial audio synthesis to place sound sources in a virtual 3D world.

At the 51st Annual Grammy® Awards Show, telecast on CBS from L.A.’s Staples Center on the evening of Sunday, February 8th, XM Productions/Effanel Music employed Genelec 8200 Series Active DSP Monitoring Systems.
