Lawo & OB Group winning combination for new HD truck

Building a brand new state of the art HD truck is certainly not a simple undertaking. After nearly twelve months of turning plans into reality, the Australian OB Group recently announced that their brand new state of the art HD OB truck is finally on the road and operational.

Equipped with a Sony MVS-6000 HD vision mixer and Harris Platinum router complete with multiviewer, an EVS XT2Plus and X-File system, Chyron Hyper X3 HD,  Sony HSC 300HD cameras, Link Research wireless camera and various Sony VTR’s and solid state recorders, the truck offers clients access to state of the art television equipment.

When it came to audio, again no expense was spared to provide the OB Group’s clients with cutting edge technology. The main audio router of the truck is a Lawo Nova73 HD core with various DALLIS I/O boxes, the audio routing system is connected to a mc²56 32-fader mixing console, offering superb performance in daily operation and fast turn around time between jobs. Dual power supplies on all DALLIS and HD Core systems as well as a redundant controller card.

While pursuing various options for a new audio console and audio routing system, the final decision came down to 2 companies. The OB Group finally decided on Lawo as it was best suited to the OB Groups and their clients needs and was more flexible. With almost limitless expansion options and the simplicity of interfacing to other OB vans, the mc²56 has already proven to have been the right choice for the OB Group.

Since the truck has been on the road, the system has impressed Managing Director of the OB Group Colin Rothenberg “We have had various high profile jobs including various jobs for FOX Sport and we also did the Nickelodeon ‘Slime Fest’. The system hasn’t missed a beat and our customers are very satisfied with the new truck.”
